I began writing lyrics in 1978 with the idea that an accomplished musician & vocalist would eventually play & sing the lyrics of the tunes.

TROUBLED TIMES

THE LAST TIME I SPOKE TO YOU

WHAT I SAID IS STILL TRUE

WE LIVE IN TROUBLED TIMES

WE DO, WE DO, WE DO

TROUBLED TIMES, TROUBLED TIMES

WE LIVE IN TROUBLED TIMES

WE DO, WE DO, WE DO

TROUBLED TIMES, TROUBLED TIMES

WE LIVE IN TROUBLED TIMES

WE DO, WE DO, WE DO

THE DOGS OF WAR ARE AT THE DOOR

BARKING AT OUR HEELS

FOUL POISON STAINS US ALL

OH HUMANITY HOW I PRAY FOR YOU

RISE UP, AND SAVE US FROM THE SELF – APPOINTED ONES.

SAVE US, SAVE US

SAVE US FROM THE SUPERIOR ONES

OF GREEN – BACKS AND POPPY

LET HUMANITY WIN THE DAY

LET OUR HUMANITY WIN THE DAY

FOR THE GODS OF VIOLENT RETRIBUTION

THE GODS OF VENGEANCE RULE THE STREETS

GODS OF VIOLENCE INHABIT THE LAND

GODS OF THE 3 POISONS RULE

CASTING LONG SHADOWS OVER US ALL.

WE LIVE IN TROUBLED TIMES

WE DO, WE DO, WE DO

TROUBLED TIMES, TROUBLED TIMES, TROUBLED TIMES, TROUBLED TIMES..............

"An If, But, To and When"

Formidable  Formidable   Formidable

Cause I'm an if, but, to and when
and I'm the lad from Dagenham
mixed upon the canvas
like a diadem

Formidable   Formidable   Formidable

But my indecision turns to precision
when at loggerheads with myself.
However - I know a fella
and he's a china plate of mine.
But - he's always ducking and diving
he's like grease lightning
in a middle - age crisis
half - way to a ton.
He's my other half - and he calls me bruv
and that is awesome

Awesome   Awesome   Awesome

He tells me it's the human condition
to be in a state of obsession
with a two-tone zephyr on every street
and that could be gruesome
gruesome for the Gruesome two-some
in Dagenham

But me china
he's a tribal man
he aint no clown
rather somewhat pedigree

He told me of a genuine icon
not just some human metaphor
3000 years old - found it in the mud
the Dagenham mud that is
and mud is thicker than blood
so he's got to be me bruv
me other half too

and that's Awesome, Awesome
Awesome contemplation too

You may laugh about the mud
but its rather class
because a lady from the Cameroons
built a 50 foot shed in her garden
and what did she use -
Dagenham council mud [my dear Toulouse]

And she went on
to become a national phenomenon
a celebrity - an icon

And that's....
Formidable    Formidable    Formidable

Cause, I'm an if, but, to and when
and I'm the lad from Dagenham
mixed upon the canvas
like a Diadem

              Dirty Blood

Dirty Blood, Dirty Blood
Dirty Blood Money
like an atomic thud
in your blood
is dirty blood money

The donkey's plight. The carrots ripe
when frightened men
carve each other in.
Honestly, a corporate spree
the worms do enjoy -
nations rape and slaughter
for a dime or a quarter
praised upon the well oiled throne

In earth's paradise
costly, hoping wishing wells -
Blind decisions not to see -
a P.A .Y.E.
Whats this? Invented hell!
In collusion to disown....
Bloodied stains soiling time -
serving hymns of vengeance dues.
Green backs honour deliverance -
paid in oily oily blood blood money

Dirty Blood  Dirty Blood
Dirty Blood Money

For fear is fearful
frightening for all
when frightened men
carve each other in

Profits glittering, sparkling.
Atop it tall
gay freedoms incestuous pranks,
spermatozoa lost in mercenary slaughter,
another ovum set in mortuary ranks,
another daughter quartered for a bone

In collusion rampant slaughter
for oil and water
land and sea
Blood Blood Blood Money

Dirty Blood  Dirty Blood
Dirty Blood money
like an atomic thud
in your Blood
is Dirty Blood Money

                     Look At Me

Look At Me,  look At Me,  look At Me,  look At Me,
Look At Me,  look At Me,  look At Me,  look At Me,

In gilt - edged recompence  -  and hypocracy
now this is me hour  -  and bare-ing of the heart
bringing to me name  -  another kind of shame

Ruthless,  Ruthless,  Ruthless,
another kind of ruthless Shame
Ruthless,  Ruthless,  Ruthless,
another kind of ruthless Shame

Look At Me,  look At Me,  look At Me,  look At Me,
Look At Me,  look At Me,  look At Me,  look At Me,

For nameless anonymity - and allegory
a shredded fate - and no escape
and buried like a tart, in art and mystery
and no uncertainty

Ruthless,  Ruthless,  Ruthless,
another kind of ruthless Shame

Pass - primadonnas - cryptic on their own
the cynicism shown - in immorality - amorality
and in the justice of immortality
partiality to individuality

Says what, says what, says what,
Says - says look at Me

Ruthless,  Ruthless,  Ruthless,
another kind of ruthless Shame
Ruthless,  Ruthless,  Ruthless,
another kind of ruthless Shame

Look At Me,  look At Me,  look At Me,  look At Me,
Look At Me,  look At Me,  look At Me,  look At Me,

It ain't my cup of tea
mixed with cruelty
and belligerent poverty
and personalities
what about the aggro
and like to have our way
touche and fait accompli
up your sleeve
what did it achieve
what did it achieve
for crying out loud
what did it achieve
what did it achieve

Lets do the sha sha sha, lets do the sha sha sha,
lets do the ba ba ba
lets do the sha sha sha, ba ba ba
to tweeting sheep.
Lets do the sha sha sha - to the reachee pukey
smoochee smokey of the NYC.
lets do what?
What to be in a merry car
like a, 24, carat, movie
tastes of the rich and pokey
all neat and pukey
the height of a flat foot floozie
nice, nice, I'm really nice and glad
Who to be in America - a vanilla chiller,
super stella, empire ball
all neat and pukey
dressed for a flat foot floozy
tastes of the rich and pokey
nice, oh nice - I'm nearly nice and glad

Lets do, lets do, lets do the sha sha sha
to the ba ba ba of tweeting sheep.
Fellas smug and right real pearly teethed
dolly dappers from their nappers
to their feet
doing the ba ba ba to the sha sha sha

A vanilla chiller, super stella
nightmare - blissfully
blissfully
lets do the sha sha sha
to the ba ba ba
of tweeting sheep

Jumpy on the streets
twitchy in your sleep
lets do the reachee pukey smoochee smokey
to the flat foot floozy of the NYC.
sha sha sha, ba ba ba
the timbres emulate - somnambulisticly
the ba ba ba of tweeting sheep

Smile oh loco los paranoidos
tastes of the rich and smokey
smile oh loco los paranoidos, Bilko
smile oh loco los paranoidos, Bilko

From the bronx to canning town
people mugged and sucked for half a crown
mugged and sucked for the price
of a paupers gown
from canning town to boston
finances pose the question
to hear the birds of morn,
or the cancerous growth of scorn
or the shifting sands of porn
or the nefarious scars of pallid noon
or the withered ways of mutants
or the tight arsed coughs of moguls
